I see it as a blog for people who dont want to actually write or post anything. They just point to things they find interesting. (post links to things they like or find interesting.)
For me it is no different than a collection of links from a friend, except prettier, and easier to make. And no, I don't have an account, nor read them. I am still in the rss era for my consumption.
