Senate republicans, speaking on behalf of big oil instead of their constitutents, filibustered a bill today that would end entitlements to big oil.I know some of you don't like Keith Olberman, but he summarized it pretty good.
Today the Senate filibustered a vote to end oil subsidies. 51 democrats voted to end. 47 republicans voted not to end. Democrats have received $5,873,600 in big oil contributions. Republicans have received $23,582,500 in big oil contributions. The Senate needs 60 votes. W/out republicans voting against these subsidies.....big oil gets to keep those subsidies. 51 votes are just not enough. I guess its pretty clear, $23 million dollars in contributions for your campaigns, means more than the constituents you were hired to work for.......pathetic!
