My wife had one that derived from a popup that said something to the effect
of your computer has been infected blah blah blah click here to remove
virus...she clicked and got the virus (grrr...and she wonders why I don't
allow her on my computer hehehe)

This is where your system actually gets infected and then you keep getting
directed to a page to download software to remove it (and you have to pay
for it).

There are ways to go in and remove it manually...not too much of a PIA...
