Excellent, sounds like the ideal shopping experience!

I walked into the Gateway store here in Union Square a few days ago and
asked why I should shop there as opposed to the website or over the phone.
Other than my having to pay sales tax in the store (certainly not a benefit
for me), there were no reasons other than, "we can add the personal touch to
the computer shopping experience."

Although, come to think of it, maybe it's too bad I couldn't have gotten it
there, it would be nice (and just maybe worth paying the additional tax) to
get it sooner.

Forgot to mention, the really scary part of the whole thing is that I went
into an apple store to get it. I gave them the specs and walked out of the
store with the ibook 10 minutes later. When it came to computers I've never
had that happen to me. The machine was in stock exactly as I specified.
