So anyway, he turns back up at 30 and then basically fits a lifetime of shit into 3 event filled years, which ends with a pretty nasty hanging. But if you believe his droogs, three days later he's given a 40 day reprieve, during which he haunts a few people and forever taints the name "Thomas"...before a stiff breeze carries him away. So naw, they didn't miss him.
