It very well may hold up. The whole reason for the "females only" swim lesson is mainly one of making the women/girls comfortable swimming in garments they might not otherwise feel comfortable in amongst random male strangers.
Same reason Curves gyms exist. This is fairly common across cultures, although for some cultures it is less optional than others. All male jury, might get overturned.
