We met at the ballet. Well, thats what we try to tell our friends, but the
truth usually comes out quickly that we met (while she was standing in line
for the bathroom) in a bar. She was raised in NY, but had moved to Cal a
few years back. She was in town on business, doing some finishing touches
on the Laramie Project film, and was planning to go back to SF within a week
of the day we met. One thing led to another, and shes been living with me
in NY ever since. I went out there to see her place a few months ago, fell
in love with the city, and decided that if even if my company wouldn't let
me keep my job, I was going to leave anyway. Fortunately, things are
working out pretty well. I'm going to keep my job, I got a raise (tiny, but
a raise nonetheless), I've met the most incredible person, and I'm moving to
a most incredible city (not in that order).

I am sure your girlfriend has something better than fireworks in mind for
you!!

SF sounds more fun than NY to me.

Where did you meet the GF? If you say devcon I will vomit. We would have
to rename it "lovcon"

I'm flying to SF with all of my worldly possessions in tow. Rumor has it
the city is celebrating my arrival with a big fireworks show (kidding,
obviously. someone in my office actually thought i was serious when i sadi
that recently)

For anyone in NYC who wants to have a beer on Thursday (to say hello,
goodbye, or try to talk me out of moving out there with my g/f [yes, Beth, I
am p*whipped]), come downtown. Details here:
