"WASHINGTON -- A report by the College Republican National Committee
released
Monday<http://images.skem1.com/client_id_32089/Grand_Old_Party_for_a_Brand_New_Generation.pdf>
found
that most students hold positions closer to Democrats on many issues,
underscoring the difficulty in the GOP's push for younger voters. Yet, the
report remains vague on solutions for Republicans."

I don't think young people are Liberal, as much as they are rejecting the
often racist and extreme positions of the current crop of GOP leaders.

"The report found that 50 percent wanted to "cut government spending
significantly," seemingly a winning issue for Republicans. However, a
"large number" of respondents wanted to start with the defense budget.

Fifty-four percent of respondents in a March 2013 survey said taxes should
go up on the wealthy, which Republicans have long opposed. Just 3 percent
said taxes should be cut for the wealthy.

On health care, 41 percent said Obama's health care reform law would make
the health care system better, versus 32 percent who thought it would make
things worse. House Republicans have tried 37
times<http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-05-16/politics/39306992_1_house-republicans-repeal-health-care-law>
to
repeal Obamacare."

The question really is WHO does the second party in the US represent? It
doesn't seem to represent the general US public. (which from my
observations is a good thing).

Canada's Conservative Party doesn't seem to have a problem getting support,
but then would Canada's Conservatives be considered conservative by US
Standards?
