most type 2 diabetics are NOT on insulin. most are on long-term pill medication that helps with insulin uptake.
those people do NOT need to test daily, once their medications are dosed correctly, and they are on a decent meal plan. I believe it was these people, who do not need to test multiple times per day, and really need long-term course correction, but who are STILL automatically given blood sugar testing supplies, and who never use them, that she was talking about. strips are still 50cents+ each, and add to that the finger prickers, and alcohol wipes, all of which currently end up getting thrown away or stockpiled under counters, that is a whole lotta money that doesnt need to be spent.
