and yeah, this. The whole immigration process is incredibly arcane and bureaucratic. It took me almost a year to get a replacement green card. Note, this is just a replacement for a card that was already issued. With a police report showing it was stolen. And after all that it still has the wrong name on it. I can't get them to correct it. And I speak English. And have been told I am fairly good at advocating for myself.
