One of my favourite writers. And a wonderful curmudgeon. At one point he was banned from the US for his writing. Also because the USAF considered him a threat - he stated that if any US Air Force plane flew over his land he'd shot it with his shotgun. They actually tried to have the Canadian government charge him. When the RCMP went to his house to interview him about it, they stayed for about 3 hours talking and drinking tea with him.
