If you haven't seen the redwoods in person, take the time. Even the coastal
redwoods are awe-inspiring.
(Muir Woods is a great place to see them).

And although it is not in San Fran, but south in San Jose (just in case
your "San Fran" location is actually a little south), the Tech Museum of
Innovation has always thrilled.

Also south is Cupertino, where 1 Infinite Loop is an actual address (Apple
Campus).
