Suspect Charged With Public Drunkenness

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- This was no joyriding teenager -- and it sure wasn't a textbook
police pursuit.

An investigator in Pennsylvania was on his way to work Monday morning when he spotted
a man cruising down the shoulder
of the street on a child's toy vehicle.

The 180-pound man was plugging along at 3 mph on a Fisher-Price Power Wheels, and it
was holding up under his weight.

Police say the driver told them he was going to his uncle's house, but didn't say why
he was using a toy to get there.
The man was charged with public drunkenness.

A woman who called to report her son's toy car had been stolen isn't pressing charges.
