I just bought a dell. I've use Sony, IBM, and Compaq in the past. I've had the worst experience with IBM "Crash-Pad". Subsequent machines worked just fine. Basically chose the Dell based on price/performance. Seemed to have best bang for buck. No problems so far.

Anyone out there recently bought a laptop recently? I've been looking at the Sony Vaio, a few of the Dell laptops, and the Apple G4 Powerbook. Vaio seems the most bang for the buck, being pretty slim, having a 16.1 inch display, and not costing an arm and a leg. Dell is in the running because I've just always considered their laptops to be like the "old faithful" choice, but I'm not very impressed with what they can deliver for the price. The G4 wins hands down in the "cool factor". I'd have to learn Dreamweaver to use the Powerbook, but that wouldn't be a terrible thing. I also know some folks now have CFMX running on Mac, so that's not really a limiting factor either. Only PITA would be that I would have to buy both PC and Mac copies of my IDEs so I can also still use my desktop. Any other suggestions? -Cameron ----------------- Cameron Childress Sumo Consulting Inc. --- cell: 678-637-5072 aim: cameroncf email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ______________________________________________________________________ Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/cf-community@houseoffusion.com/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
