Is it noticeably more viscous?

Dead Sea - been there, floated in that

It's *so* salty you can't sink.
You can't bathe in it if you have any cuts or sores, the 
mineral salts would hurt a lot.

On the Jordanian side, they mine Potash etc. from it.
