Way back when I lived in PA and worked in Delaware. I was supervisor of a bunch of data entry warehouse folks. One of my "folks" was Dianne. Dianne had had a very hard life, and it showed. She was a single mom and she struggled with trying to raise her son well. But Dianne had a good heart. Of all my employees she was the one who stayed late to help me finish things while the others went home. She worried about her 12 year old son, and tried to be a good parent to him.
Today someone sent me a url to an article about how Dianne was bludgeoned to death by that 12 year old son (now 19). Some idiot who I used to work with sent it to me along with a joke about how he once heard Dianne say that she brought Josh into this world, and how she could take him out of it. Asshole. Its sad that that is how he remembered Dianne, because thats NOT what I remember. What i remember is her telling me how she wanted to do better by her son than her mother did by her (which she did, as her mothers boyfriend molested her for years). I remember her sticking up for me when someone accused me of something I didn't do. I remember Dianne, despite her rough appearance and behavior, was a good person doing the best she could.
