You can't do this on a client computer.
Well actually, I know that it is possible to do this on a client computer,
but its a security no no.  Its morally reprehensible to access a users'
computer in anyway without their consent.

If you want to store a profile for your users, then make them log in and
store the profile in a database. Or for the insecure method, keep it in a
cookie without a log in.....
