don't know why you're asking...
i can recommend some very good places to eat:

if you like sushi:
try Noble Fish on 14 mile just east of Main in Clawson
(a near north burb of Detroit, just south of Troy).
small sushi stand in the back of a japanese market.
great prices, even better sushi.

'La Shish' -if you fly into Metro and then
take 94 into the actual city of Detroit, you'll see
a billboard for this place. there are 2, both on Michigan
avenue in Dearborn. the one in east Dearborn has the better
food.

Thai - 'Thai Bangkok' on Jos Campau in Hamtramck makes
an outstanding plate of pad thai tofu.
(Hamtramck is smack dab in the middle of detroit, but it's
its own city.)

Coney Islands all over the place are good for lunch.

Southwest Detroit has several good mexican restaurants.
'Xochimilco' is my favorite among them.

Traffic Jam in the 'Theater District' or 'Cass Corridor'
(depends on whether you ask the developers seeking funding
for condos or non-for-profits seeking funding for
homeless shelters) at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Canfield brews their own
beer,
makes their own cheese, etc.
wonderful place to eat and drink.
try their Java Porter.

as far as tourist attractions:
the DIA

don't forget to trespass here:

or just cruise 8 Mile and see what all the fuss is soon to be about...
