Black Ice Sucks as a firewall, at least it did two years ago. You should read the security reviews of it that are on line... maybe with google as a start.
On my cable modem I've been using Freesco v0.2.7 Pronounced like Cisco (c) 1999,2000 Serge Storozhevykh http://www.freesco.org On my previous DSL line I had to use Coyote because Freesco does not support the DSL access methods... can't remember the specifics right now. With both of them I had/have it running on an old 486 with 16MB Ram, no hard drive and I ripped the fans out to keep it quiet. These Linux firewall/routers boot off a single floppy disk and have the ability to do things like port forwarding.
