Something I haven't heard anyone else mention (probably because it's not
that common) is Ham Radio. It's not an "instant fix" like reading,
jogging, sightseeing or digging a hole to China, but there are a ton of
options and avenues to explore. I've had my license since 1994 and I've
enjoyed things like talking to people from all around the world,
interfacing radio with computer equipment to work digital modes,
participating in emergency preparedness contests and stormspotting.
