yeah .. it'll do that ive also found out. 

Did the same with my digi cam and my scanner .. i just click on the 'device
no found' icon it was displaying .. it said summat bout drivers yadayadadya
. then it worked .. why it couldnt have just done that itself i dunno. :)

Sometimes Windows makes no sense. I simply right clicked on my USB
controllers and updated the drivers. It never asked for a disk or
anything so I don't know where it copied crap from - but all of a sudden
my drive was recognized.
