Lol, I think Larry was just yanking yer chain! :-) There was an interesting discussion of the "resignation" of U.S. Treasury Secretary O'Neill this morning on the radio here in Ontario.... The analyst was saying that O'Neill was a supporter of trade and its mutual benefits. There is apparently a feeling becoming prevalent in the U.S. that the U.S. is losing out on trade and may be turning towards more protectionist measures. This would be bad news for Canada since so much of the health our economy is tied to export to our southern neighbours. There is a lot of irony for Canadians to think that the U.S. would be thinking of itself as the loser since it clearly holds the big cards when it comes to trade. While it is true as Robert Redford noted on one of his visits here that Canadians have a national inferiority complex, and equally true as the Canadian writer Pierre Berton noted that Canadians love to hate Americans, I hardly think that qualifies us as friends who are capable of weakening and corrupting the United States...public criticisms of your president notwithstanding! Hehe frankly I don't think the States really need any help in that department! :-)
