Considering that the source is an op ed and doesn't even have to stand up to the notably low standards of objectivity that the Washington Times has, I don't put much credulity in it. It sounded more like a polemic rather that a straight piece. At the same time I've noted that in Britian, Austria, Germany, Poland and France, more right wing than left wing politicians were soundly defeated at the polls. Some swing to the right.
