I recently won a freelance project by laying down a flat price.

After taking a look at the specs, I realized it would take me about four
weeks on evenings and weekends to do it. I bid my monthly take home salary,
and came in at one sixth of the competition's price.

Thus far, things are going swimmingly and I have no complaints about the
work - in fact, they seem to appreciate being able to work directly with the
developer.

Maybe that works for you...

Subject: Contract to Hire

ok so i am going into a meeting today for a contract.
once completed on time & under budget they want to hire me.

normally i charge 75 bucks an hour for web work.
should i drop the rate to ensure i get the work?
they mentioned that i would have to bid out the work, against a company who
originally built this application.

i am sure that company could fix there problems faster & cheaper then i can
starting from scratch. since they have the database, which i will have to
fake or recreate. stuff like that.

any advice?
meetings at 2pm

thanks
-paul
