I'm not particularly familiar with .ws.  My impression of most people is
that they are confused by anything not .com (at least in the US).  I had
friends who kept failing to send me email in college because it took them a
while to grasp the idea of ".edu" :-)  Of course, some of them were also the
ones who asked "you mean there's email besides Hotmail?"  Not the most
technocratic people I know.  :-)
