Alright, I just got a new computer along with a new installation of Visio. This version Visio includes few of the stencils I am used to, and I am quickly becoming aggravated!
What I am trying to do is diagram a simple data factory. What I need to be able to do is outline the particular steps involved in concatenating / transforming / deleting / creating exceptions for a few tables traveling from one system to another. I need to show tables, specific fields, and simple decision logic, and to try to do it in a somewhat elegant manner. Other than squares and lines, I have no stencils in this particular installation and feel I need more to do this right. People want me to do this right. I used to use a package called Dato I found on google, and it was basically a collection of stencils similar to enterprise manager's database map icons. It appears the company that made it is now gone. Anyone know of any similar stencils out there, preferably free ones? How about complex diagrams done with simple shapes - care to share one and an explanation?
