I feel for ya both, Ben.  I'm in your son's position and my dad is in yours.
I finally ended up taking a job at a place I worked before my glory days
with CF.  It's not what I would like to be doing, but it helps pay some of
the bills, keeps me working with computers, and gives me something to do.

Like others have said, I would suggest he get a job doing whatever he can.
Something food related would be better, obviously, but whatever it takes, ya
know?

I wouldn't worry about the "not getting along to well" part.  He'll probably
come around in a few years like I did with my dad.  It's one of those things
that just happens when sons get older .. as long as they don't totaly hate
their dads to begin with.  Um.  You know what I'm trying to say :)

BTW, speaking of your son being a chef, what kind of knives does he use?
