Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
The shadow was (IIRC) a '20s-era superhero with the ability to 'Fog men's
minds' -- he used his mental powers and an oversized scarf to disguise
himself and went around righting wrongs in ways that were freqeuntly fatal
for evildoers. However, for someone who usually ended up blowing the bad
guy away, he was pretty smart in how he figured out who the bad guy was and
got close enough to the villain to dispatch the knave.
