Heehee, that made me giggle for some reason. ;) Seriously, though, I can kind of understand. With the brains that you encounter in the "coder" world, you also get a generous sprinkling of eccentricity here and there, that doesn't always translate in a good way. Some super smart people don't quite have the people skills many of us take for granted. I would hate that you had to quit because of an uncomfortable environment, but if you've had all you can... But you've got a house, loans, etc, so if you can make it, go for it.
