You also may want to check into renting a car (read minivan) with built in
carseats.

Just so you know, carseats are free luggage for many airlines (check with
yours first though).  Also as Jeff said, if there is a seat available or
purchased for the child then you can use the carseat on the plane.  We took
a bungee cord and strapped our carseat to the stroller to make carrying it
around easier... worked like a charm.

Wow - they do - and Hertz wants to charge me 112 dollars for _each_ car
seat. That's amazing considering to _buy_ a car seat I'd pay around
60-70 each I think. Guess I'm dragging the seats on the airline.
