96 years is impressive - everybody has to go some time and she had nearly a
century of vivacious living.  I'd rather approach it as an opportunity to
celebrate her life and work.

Please don't take this as a shot or as flippancy: people deal with things
all different ways.  There are some people whose deaths I can just accept
serenely.  

Others I can't.  Isaac Asimov and Jim Henson are two examples of people that
I felt hadn't lived quite full lives.  They were taken by unexpected illness
and much undone.

It's almost a certainty that Catherine Hepburn would have never reentered
public life.  It's hard to see how she could have lived a better, more
fulfilling life.
