signs spoiling below -- the end scene especially made me think that. I mean, the alien is holding the kid in his arms with his wrist on the kids mouth. Hes just standing there. He's not doing anything. Then they seperate the kid from the alien and start hitting it with a baseball bat. And its still standing there. Ouch, that stung a bit, can I have another.
All in all though, lots of fun. Its got that predestination or religious twist too or whatever you like to call it. The kid had to have asthma to survive and the sister had to love full glasses of water in precarious positions to save the family. The uncle had to love baseball but yet be rejected so that the bat would be on the wall in the living room. I'm thinking the mom had to die too. Its not so obvious to me why though. Perhaps to get the dad out of the church to pull his family toghether so that they work as a team?? Anybody witha better reason? I kinda saw signs in the theatre. I went and got a little drunk before the movie..and sat with my hands infront my eyes for a great portion of it ;-) Even now...somehow...sometimes at night...when I hear a sound...my mind wanders back to those odd green alien things, and I wonder if that could really happen in this day and age. Where each person/family experiences their own form of the 'alien invasion', and it isn't a far removed experience happening to 'other' people somewhere else in the world. That was what was so..different about Signs. It was ...'human'...just this one family and how they survive the experience, without having guns or any other sort of weapons. Still..they asked you to really stretch your imagination and just 'accept things'. Like the thing with the water. Perhaps they could withstand airborne ambient water, but direct water on their skins would do them in. But it's still a stretch. All in all, the aliens didn't seem to be very smart. They certainly didn't scout the place out before trying to invade. And what really was their purpose? To capture live humans for study? Then why not just grab people in remote locations before 'invading'...?? Still..if you suspend your disbelief it was a great sci-fi/thriller. -Gel -----Original Message----- From: Raymond Camden [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] [lots of stuff] While I agree the science wasn't 100% there, I thought Signs was w/o a doubt one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen. -rc ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
