Let's face it, the hacker drug of choice is computers.

Right now, I am jonezing on some purchases I made earlier in the month
at a computer show. Spent too much, now I am down to $65 for the rest of
the month (unless I want to desperately raid the savings account).

My big plan is to overclock the AMD 2600 XP this weekend and bring it up
from 2.1 GHz to 2.5 (I've heard you can get it to 2.65, but that might
be stretching it). To do this, I am going to add a Thermalright SLK-800
as the heatsink and a pair of in/out fans to the bottom of the case. I
am going to use a band saw to trim away parts of the case I have for the
new fans.

If this works out and I get a stable system before Sunday, I am also
planning on going over to the spray booth to paint the exterior of the
case. I have an automotive racing yellow that is going on, along with
some racing stripes.

I would add neon, but I really prefer the simple look of chrome. For
that reason, I am having the front plate of the case chrome dipped and
will create some cutouts that will be given the automotive yellow
treatment as well.

When I get the case back, I am adding a thermal gauge to the front of
the box and some hard drive coolers to all the drives to reduce heat and
noise.

The side effects don't effect everyone. If they did, then
you'd have
hundreds of
thousands of dead guys with permanent hard-ons (viagra has a
side effect
of
  heart attacks).
