would be constantly disappointed. In the show, I kept wondering when the
hell they would get to Earth. It was one of my first realizations that TV
writers didn't actually have a clue what the big story was going to be and
that they were just making shit up on the go for each week. Then they
finally got to Earth, and it kinda sucked. Of course, the actors had
changed, they were riding invisible flying motorcycles, and there was
Wolfman Jack. And then it got worse and they did the
stolen-from-Star-Trek-travel-back-to-WWII-and-stop-the-bad-guys-from-helping
-the-Nazis plot.
Note that above I said "nerds" not "geeks". Back in the day, you were a nerd
if you liked space, computers, scifi, hobbits, D&D, etc. Geeks just bit
chickens.
