To answer your first paragraph, it's really hard not to go postal when this kind of stuff happens to ya, even if you know well of the consequences.  I would kill to protect my family.  It's just instinct.

I always grew up with certain (mis)conceptions of the U.S.  As I get older every year, I am started to like it less (the government, certain peoples, but not the land!)  I know it was naive of me to hold the US to a certain degree of purity, but it's something that has always stuck with me.

if my six year old was killed, compensation would depend on certain circumstances.  If it was a total innocent accident, money would do.  if it was a careless accident, money and jail time would do.  If it was a totally careless accident, and that person was right next to me, I would probably go postal, or at least, beat up somebody.  if it was intentional, I would really go postal.

How about all of you?

If  you went postal, you might end up killing someone, who would go postal,
and kill someone you know.  Carry this on for several hundred or thousand
years and you may begin to approach some the hatreds in other parts of the
  world.

And I wouldn't be so sure about the purity of the US.  We have dirty laundry
as well.  Hopefully, most has been hung up in the front yard for all to see,
creating waves of embarrassment and change.  However, I think it is a safe bet
that we have killed many over the years in various forms of reprisals and not
compensated for the collateral damage.  Lastly, what form of compensation
would suffice if your 6 year old was killed?

Sorry if I have offended anyone with my question.  I just notice that of all
the posts, no one has yet answered my question.  The real reason I asked it is
out of plain curiosity.  I also asked because many of you guys here are Jews
or Jewish, and I assumed you might be keened to Israeli policy.  I apologize
for not making clear of my stance in the subject. Actually i didn't want to, I
was just curious.  Here are my thoughts on it, and maybe one of you guys would
  answer finally!

I am unsure whether they compensate the families or not, because on one
hand, Israel is "like" America, and I know that if America were towhack out
some terrorists and killed some innocent people or ade them homeless, they
would compensate for that.  I think!  I mean if they accidentally killed a 6
yrold or something wouldn't they compensate somehow?  but on the other hand,
I'm always seeing pictures of people crying when their houses or businesses
get blown up, so maybe they dont get compensated!

Which brings me to another issue!  This is probably universal, but if anyone
destroys my business or house or kills one of my family members on accident
and does not compensate in some way, i'm going postal!

Ahhh, the vicious cycle of violence hehe
