The problem is that it's called Fox News, not Fox Commentary, or Fox
Opinion.

It is a truth of journalism that you can't be unbiased, but it is a
virtue that you try.  The problem with Fox News is that it doesn't try; this
makes it propaganda.

Anyone who complains about the "liberal media" isn't very resourceful - I
subscribe to the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, and The Economist.  For news
I watch the News Hour with Jim Lehrer.  I have absolutely no problem with
bias.  Am I the only conservative that can do this?

No, so let's get to the truth ...

The complainers aren't looking for News, they're looking for affirmation of
their identity which, for some reason, they've wrapped into Mr. Bush.  They
desire an "us" and "them" team-type structure that relieves them of the
burden of independent thought.

You will never hear these people talk intelligently about policy and most of
them don't know the difference between fiscal and monetary.

They are fundamentally threatened by someone questioning their blissful
ignorance so they seek slogans and platitudes to defend it.  Fox News is
fresh air because they know they won't be challenged as long as they're on
the team.

As always, there are plenty of demagogues willing to fill their empty heads
full of bogus ideas and hero worship.  Today their names are Bill O'reilly,
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and there are many other wannabes.

Yesterday there was Father Coughlin.  Tomorrow there will others - the best
place to watch for them will probably be Fox News.
