What the heck.

I just came across this. Apparently they sell Flash cards for the
Gameboy Advanced that are as large as 1GB. You can copy Game Roms which
are available off the net like .mp3 files and then transfer them to
these Flash cards.

You then pop the flash card, that operates just like a standard GBA Game
Cartridge and you're able to play any of the games stored on that flash
card/cartridge.

WOW!

"Gameboy roms for GB games are what MP3 files are for Music. Flash
Advance Cards are Just like a ReWritable CDs, Memory Stick from Sony, or
like a Smart Card or Smart Media Card you are using for your MP3 Player,
it will simply hold the game data in it's Flash Memory. Once you have
sent games, demos or programs to it's memory using the Flash Advance
Linker, it can simply be plugged into the Gameboy Advance and it will
act like an original game - there is 100 percent not any difference!

Flash Advance Card will also allow you to store savegame data. This
means once you've opened a lot of levels or you got some extra points in
your game, you won't need to start from the scratch - it will save the
game status just like an original cartridge with the game. Savegame data
can be stored on your local PC Harddrive too, so you won't loose any
data when you are using the flash card for other games.

Flash Advance Card can be re-written, feel free to use as often as you
like, just the same like any other Flash Card on the market (Smart
Media, Memory Stick etc.).

The Flash Advance Card is furthermore the perfect choice for any
professional Gameboy Advance developersor even home developers - Create
your own games using your PC (free software is available) and simply use
the Flash Advance Card to show your game/demo to friendsor test it on
real Hardware. If you believe it or not, even large software companies
are developing their games using exactly this Hardware and this
methods."

And you write the data to the card using some Flash Linker
hardware/software combination:

"Writing GBA ROMs to Flash Advance Cards
The best thing about FAL is that it also lets you write Gameboy roms to
Flash Advance Cards! Use the provided HYPERLINK
"http://www.gameboy-advance.net/fal_soft/flash_advance_software.htm"soft
ware to select ROM files from your harddrive, and write them through the
printer or USB port connected Flash Advance Linker to the Flash Advance
Cartridge. Its just like writing files to ReWritable CD with a
CD-Recorder or sendingt MP3 files from PC to MP3 Player. You can even
save multiple games into one single HYPERLINK
"http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_card/gba_flash_advance_cards.htm"f
lash advanc card! 64M card can hold up to 2 games, 128M - 4 games, 256M
- 8 games, 512M - 16 games. Most Gameboy Advance games are 32Mbits or
64Mbits big (4 or 8 Mega Bytes on your PC) "

Not that I'm advocating using this to get 'free' games off the internet
for your Gameboy Advanced or anything. I just found it amazing what they
come up with!

The 1GB card is about 160US.
