You CAN make full DVD 'copies' .. Menus and all .. Programs like DVD X Copy
( http://www.321studios.com/ <http://www.321studios.com/> ) will slighty but
not noticeably compress the main movie to fit on a recordable DVD (alongside
the extras and menus). Programs like the above do it all for ya. Just insert
the original, wait 20mins, insert the blank, wait 15mins, done.

You can't make full DVD rips. Meaning, you can't rent a DVD movie at
Blockbuster and expect to rip the whole movie at home. You have to extract
the movie to your PC and with editing software
remove all the "extras" and intro etc. until the filesize is small enought
to fit on a regular DVD disk.
