One of my women was kind enough to bring over her old stereo for my pool room. The amp is solid and the speakers sound surprisingly good, but unfortunately the 3 disc changer is really dodgy. Luckily, it is a separate piece and the receiver has rca inputs.
So, my plan is to get a little Discman that plays both cd and mp3 disks and go with that. I can use it in the house, and also take it on the road with me.
I'm not looking to spend a huge amount, but I don't mind spending extra for something nice. Haven't had a chance to shop yet; I plan on checking out Amazon when I get home. I'm guessing about $100 at the most, with entry level's at around $30-$50?
Also, I know I can get a RCA to headphone-plug adapter, but since that uses the Discmans internal amp which adds a little THD, I would love one that has rca outs. Not a biggie, but it would be nice.
Any recommendations, caveats, etc on brands and types?
Also, I know there are flash memory and HD players out there, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that much. /goes back to drooling over ipod
Thanks,
Matthew
