Does it act as a proxy, or does it plug right into the email client?
Does the spike only occur when you do a send/receive, or all the time ever with Outlook open?
I've been using popfile but it false positives/negatives enough that I have to go through all my spam, and I'm getting tons lately as well.
Thanks, Gel.
Matthew

Subject: Spamcatcher 3 from Aladdin Systems.
I just installed it on my machine, and its nabbed about twelve SPAM
messages in the last few minutes. I've noticed a marked increase in SPAM
to my email address over the last month, where before I never had a SPAM
problem at all, so I've been forced to install it. The only thing I've
found is that it shoots to 99% CPU usage regularly :-\
