We trust our servers 100% with the guys we use. But we also have a very
long working relationship with them (almost 5 years now!) and I can get
them on the phone or instant messenger at a moments notice. They are
responsible for the security patches and updates and they do our
back-ups. For the money we pay, we have an excellent deal with them and
couldn't feel any more secure than an unplugged server.

They are conscious of security and are not interested in our products or
our code (as far as intellectual property) ...

I'm not really sure of what you are asking for here ...

Because anywhere a server is plugged into the internet there are risks
... even corporate networks can be hacked into ...

anyway ...

Cheers,
Erika

If you co-locate a server farm and SQL server at an ISP, what are the
security risks?
Is it inherently less safe than if you host from a corporate network?
Are you putting valuable intellectual property at risk?
I am not saying this is true, just asking for opinions.
thanks!
