Heads up to everyone.  I picked up the soundtrack to "The Triplets of
Belleville" this weekend, and it's wormed its way straight to my
subconscious.  Incredible piece of work from Canadian composer Ben
Charest.  The main theme "Belleville Rendezvous" is played three times,
differently (the second "Demo" version is my favorite, along with the
gorgeous "Atilla Marcel"), and weaves its way through the rest of the
soundtrack masterfully.

There are all sorts of hints and themes and inspirations if you're
looking for them.  Music from the French Riviera, barbershop quartets,
Django ReinharDt, Angelo Badalamenti's "Twin Peaks" themes, late-1920's
jazz... Just incredible stuff, I can't recommend this album enough, and
if the evilly infectious "Belleville Rendezvous" doesn't win an Oscar
for best song, there's no justice in the world.
