Hrmmm, well, you guys are telling me the Market ones are teh suck. SO

How hard would a home grown one be?  Is it feasible?  My dad had 28 years navy as an electronic technician, so he has the skills to build from scratch...  All I want is something to feed the four(?) or whatever wires' signals back and forth.  Radio or infrared?  Heck we can take it down to a custom circuit board and solder the capacitors resistors and all as we go....  Any online sources for something like this?

I just want a little battery powered box I can plug the controllers into on my coffee table, and another on the entertainment center plugging the leads into the xbox, with the signal popping between the two.  What kind of signal would have the least latency, and the least draw on the batteries?  Maybe 4 c or d batteries at the most, though I could go to 6 or even 8 if need be for longer battery change time...  The rumble motor will probably be the largest draw on power.  The unit on the xbox; I would prefer it if it could draw power from the controller leads, though it would probably be easier to just plug in into the wall.

Sounds like a fun little project, and I'd like to get a little into the hardware side of the house just for fun.

Thoughts, ideas, etc....?

Matthew

We have the Pelican wireless controllers for the xbox - absolutely
horrid to use - if the Cube version is anything like the xbox one, then
I wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole <g>
