I found this on newegg, it's a hundred more, but plextor is pretty solid. Can anyone recommend some blank media, preferably with a newegg link(yes, im lazy:P) that I should try?
Mostly used for xbox and mp3 tunes, though I may dabble with ripping my own dvds to a couple discs or something. My player is a dvd rom drive in the gateway destination, though I may want to take my movies to a friends house.
I'm think a 50 pack of the -r and a couple three rw's, is that about right? What are the best brands, if it make sa difference?
Thanks,
Matthew

I know staples had a pioneer DVD +R I believe it was for 59.00. There is
a firmware update for it that will convert it to a dual format. My
friend bought one last week just to try out the firmware upgrade and
tested it out on a bunch of different dvd players and it worked great he
said. I'm not sure if they are still available but I will email him now
and ask him and let you know.

Subject: dvd burner recommendations please
Well, I ready to make the leap into recordable dvds. I really want to
backup all my expensive xbox games, and I'm about to get kenwood's
double-din-screen dvd player for my car which playes mp3s(4.7 gigs of
mp3 action? Yummy!).
I want to get one that does all the formats, and will have the best
readability across different players and the like. I'm not yet worried
about backing up my dvd's, unless those double density burners have made
it to market yet(haven't heard much about it so I don't think they
have).
Any recommendations, gotchas, etc etc.
Also, what should I look for with the media. I want a couple-3 rw for
work/home file shuffling, but most will be write once.
I plan on ordering from newegg, though I will look locally for a price
compare. I'll spend an extra $10 for the same drive if I can walk out
of the store with it right then.
Thanks as always,
Matthew
