Wouldn't it make more sense to move the Irish protestants?  What with the
republic of Ireland right next door?

The point I was making is that the people we now know as the Palestinians
were living in the area well before the partition. Also the Jews who were
living in the area were as likely to massacre their non-Jewish neighbours as
they were likely to massacre their Jewish neighbours. No one, Jews,
Christians, Moslems, Mongols, Turks, Europeans, etc. were all that innocent.
To a great extent they are all guilty of the same things. Remember groups
like the Irgun and the Stern Gang (terrorist groups that later evolved into
the Likud party) committed some fairly nasty atrocities. Similarly Sharon
was shown to be responsible for the massacre of several villages in the
Sinai in the 1956 war. On the other hand what is now considered the
Palestinians are also responsible for their fair share of atrocities.

That said, a significant part of the problem is that many are trapped by the
past and past events. That is why I suggest depopulating the area and
starting over again. Perhaps move the Serbs to Israel, the Northern Irish
Catholics to Rwanda, and the Tutsis of Rwanda to Serbia. That way all those
groups can start fresh.
