We are looking for an experienced Web Developer professional with 2-3 years web site development experience (in a government services environment preferred) who possesses strong technical and business processing knowledge. Your official job description is as follows:
Technical Consultant (Web Developer):
Responsible for the design and development of Internet Web Pages and Applications using Cold Fusion, Java, and _javascript_
Responsible for graphic design, and Web site development.
Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, maintain & document software code
Experience in enhancing, developing, and maintaining of a Web site
Knowledgeable in all aspects of system development and web development methodology

Required Skills with at least 2-3+ years of experience:
ColdFusion MX development experience - Minimum 2 years experience developing software applications and web pages using Cold Fusion on SQLServer. Experience with Perl, Java, _javascript_ and ASP.
HTML design, development experience - Experience in web design/development/maintenance
Relational DBMS - SQLServer 2000
Excellent customer service skills - Interface with wide range of users from executive to administrative.
Excellent Analytical Skills - High level of accuracy & attention to detail
Bachelors/Graduate Degree - Computer science, information systems
Strong written and oral communication skills.

The New York City Police Department is seeking to recruit a certified IT professional to serve as a Web developer for the Police Department's Intranet and Internet applications. This will entail providing technical expertise in the development of a state-of-the-art crime control center, participating in the development and design of new applications, carrying out test plans, and providing ongoing support, maintenance and security to ensure optimum systems operations. The Web Developer will work with other team members under executive direction, acting as project manager, and provide emergency support of critical programming applications.
Preferred Skills
Extensive experience with applications development in conjunction with Intranet and Internet applications and a comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle process. Expert application development experience using Cold Fusion MX, Java, JSP under the IBM's z990 series Websphere /Linux environment. Knowledge of SQL,DB2, SQL Server, XML and HTML. Creating Web Services is a plus. Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills are required.
Qualification Requirements
Professional/Vendor certification required for this position:
Certified ColdFusion MX Developer
Sun Certified Developer for Java 2 Platform
In addition, all candidates must have the following:
1. A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of full time(not classroom) experience in computer applications development planning, design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management; or
2. A High School diploma or its educational equivalent and 6 years of full time (not classroom) experience as described in A1" above.
3. A Master's Degree in computer science or a related field may substitute for one year of full time experience. However, all candidates must have at least one year of full time (not classroom based) information technology experience as described in A1" above.
Salary ranges from $61,522 to $80,506 commensurate with experience and salary history.
