Hi Adrian,

As you've probably figured out you can post a bid with 0 for the bid amount and that lets you start a discussion. Bid amount is just a guide price anyway and we would expect users to negotiate via the bid discussion then finalise their quote once they've won the bid - there may be a real world contract to agree especially with higher value projects so the bid is just a foot in the door and an opportunity to catch the clients attention. When you win the bid you get the contact details for the project owner and they get yours.

It's early days for the site and we're looking at how to improve the service & find ways to make the projects & resulting bids of a higher quality than msot of the other project bidding sites. We want to avoid people asking for 10 websites to be developed for $50!

Is there no way to request more info from the project contact other than by
placing a bid? Some of the details are a bit thin.

    Hi Folks,

We are in the process of launching a (very!) new UK project bidding site
  http://www.projectbids.co.uk.

The idea is that if you have a project you'd like a range of quotes for
(either from individuals or companies) you post details of the project and
wait for people to place their bids for the work, all free and with no
obligation to choose anyone and no need for people to phone you up - we're
aiming to cover a wide range of topics so anything from creative projects to
technical stuff is covered (there are general categories to accomodate most
  things).

Anyone fancy posting new projects or even submitting a few bids?

    Cheers
