The email address you sign up with is the address your allowed to postr with. The email address you post with it carried on for the message sent out to the list. Your email address/name/whatever is not replaced. If you posted with a nasa address then that is what was sent to the list. If you posted with a verizon address, that would be the one posted to the list.
