I took "advantage" of this last year since a 1099 and self-employed and needed a new vehicle. I went out and bought a truck that was of the proper weight class so was able to right off a huge chunk of its purchase price and that helped me out enormously with taxes for 2004. Too bad I am thus far am not finding something for 2005 to help out near to that extent.
