Hello Richard,
I just received your post from CF-Jobs, and I must say the company and job
description look GREAT. What can I say, other than Openweave's overall
direction and melding of technologies would be a great fit for me. I'll
explain more... but simply... I'm a technology freak. I will openly admit
that I'm a tad behind the times on WAP and the like. But, in my
code-studies I'm confident that I could ramp quickly.
I've always enjoyed looking at different separate concepts and putting them
together as a system. You know... plugging things in, turning them on, and
making them work. I seek work that builds systems, connects technologies,
and can make groovy things happen. I think it started when I was a kid. I
didn't have 1 Radio Shack electronics test and design kit. I had 2. Maybe
it was when I tried to make an auto-dialer with my C-64; unfortunately, I
didn't understand ring voltage at the age of 12.
When I was editor-in-chief-to-be in college I realized I was fascinated by
the publishing of the words - as opposed to being a wordsmith. I've always
fancied the publishing world -- screen-printing, yearbook, and
newsprint/journalism. I fancy broadcasting too; radio, audio engineering,
and even theater. So, these are exciting and fun times for me. I look at
database-driven publishing systems as being exciting. Dynamic web sites are
the ever-printed customized paper. Web and wireless are my new print
mediums and multimedia integration satisfies my theater bug. I've been
given a chance to really mix up my all my loves.
I'm a pretty creative guy too. I would hope your teams are as well. I seek
teamwork, information sharing, and some hard-core development. I am a team
player or a team leader and don't mind being both or neither. When there is
a goal, I see myself getting everyone else as excited in the project as I am
and going forward. I'm a project-driven chap as well. Although I do have 'a
life', I have to admit that I think of things outside of work as well, for
I'm voracious when it comes to solving a problem. I enjoy solving problems;
researching, troubleshooting, building, going for a 45-minute swim, then
solving the problem mid-breast stroke.
As requested, I've attached my resume. Currently, I'm freelancing in
Portland, Oregon, and have been interviewing for permanent work in the area
and in Seattle and San Francisco. If you would like to speak with me, feel
free to call.
Good luck to you in your search!
Regards,
Martin
